Do It Yourself

I generally don't like spending money. I rarely shop for myself, and have a membership at BJs and Costco to avoid paying too much for things like paper towels and body lotion.  You can imagine what a shock it is for me to learn how much simple things can cost the moment you link them to weddings. That's why I decided to try my skills at as many projects as I can.

Here is a list of things I want to make myself:

Save the Dates
My first DIY that I did all by myself (with the help of some youtube.com Photosphop tutorials)

Picture
Time - some 2 hours working in Photoshop
Cost - I am using Vistaprint because they have a deal on large magnets right now - $49.99 for 100 magnets. We need only 90. Shipping is free on orders above $50.  I will add notes with hotel block and mailing will cost me $0.44 plus $10 for 100 envelopes.
Total cost per STD - $1.18
Programs

I designed our programs after hours of searching on TK.  My sister drew a few different bunches of raspberries that I can include in our paper projects. I really love how they came out.

Cake Topper

I just received my package from Crafty Eddie. All items look awesome. I will paint all letters in dark pink, and decorate with rhinestones. I took a picture with my hand next to them, to show how large the 6" letter comes out.

Table numbers

I ordered my table numbers from Crafty Eddie. They all look super cute. I will paint the numbers in our dark pink and the stems in pearl. I love how they came out :)

Paper Pomanders

I just make my first pomander. I am not very proud of it, because it is all crooked and  doesn't seem made of the same size flowers (like Mrs. Dudley's one does). But, I am happy that I finally sat down and made these.  The actual color will be much darker pink, and the ribbon will be thicker and ivory satin.  This is a good start though  :)

 Ring Bearer Pillows

Joe has two nephews and we wanted them both involved in the wedding. With my mom's help, we made two beautiful ring pillows. I love the way they came out, and Joe loves them too.

RD Invitations

I used the picture from our e-shoot, and ordered them from Vistaprint. They are awesome :)

Card Box

My mom and I got two hat boxes from Duffy's for $9 and used the remaining of the satin we used for the pillows to wrap them.  We are still not done. Planning to add a big fluffy ivory ribbon on the top and possibly something in the front. Either bows, or flowers, we feel that the white part looks empty.
Bathroom Baskets

I really want to prepare them now. I did not want to at first, did not see the point, until I went to a party where there were really nice baskets and I loved it.
